WaterGirls + WaterBoys = WaterKids
WaterGirls began as a field experience program for middle school girls. This year, in 2019, we have decided to make a move to expand our scope and create a series of WaterKids workshops. If you have a group (girl/boy scout troop, K-12 class, after school program, or more) that would like to learn more about water and weather science, we would love to work with you!
WaterKids workshops are FREE for you! However, at this time we are not able to provide transportation to/from workshop or field trip sites.

WaterKids and WaterGirls was created by Dr. Maura Hahnenberger. She is an Assistant Professor in the Geosciences Department at Salt Lake Community College. She started the WaterGirls outreach program in 2015 and was previously an NSF GK-12 fellow acting as a scientist in the classroom in the Salt Lake City School District. She received her PhD in the Department of Atmospheric Sciences at the University of Utah studying dust storms in the eastern Great Basin of Utah.
